A Recap by Drew Loring
Just over a week ago, I was sitting at our campsite, watching the sun set over the Grand Tetons alongside nearly 50 other SFC’ers. We had gathered at a group site in the national park for our annual event, SFC CAMP. Every year, we host this gathering to create space for the SFC community in the off-season—a place where people can be encouraged, filled up, and sent out eager to charge into winter as a light on the hill. Over Labor Day weekend, that mission came to life in a big way.
Days were filled with shuttling laps on Teton Pass, hiking to alpine lakes, paddleboarding the Snake River, fly fishing for cutthroat trout, and simply soaking in God’s creation. At night, we circled up around the campfire to share stories, sing worship, hear messages from our guest speaker Marcel, and pray together. The theme of the weekend was “Be Ready.” What does it mean to live a life ready to share the Good News at any moment? What rhythms and tools shape that kind of preparedness? We wrestled with those questions in the midst of our adventures and conversations around the fire.

One of the most powerful moments came as the weekend drew to a close. Daniel, one of our friends and fellow campers, asked Josh to baptize him in the river. We all walked down to the water together, and as Daniel went under, the whole crew erupted in cheers, singing worship on the riverbank. It was pure joy—an unforgettable moment.
God brought together an incredible group of people for SFC CAMP this year. The weekend wouldn’t have been the same without each person who showed up hungry for what He had in store. Once again, He blew us away with His goodness.
I already can’t wait for next year.
