First Baptist Church of Tahoe City
Lake Tahoe is California’s playground, but it’s not all fun and games. Life in a resort community can be tough. The cost of living is extremely high, the culture is transient, and people may work two or three jobs just to make ends meet.
For the past 60 years, First Baptist Church of Tahoe City (FBCTC) has been sharing the love of God with those who live, work, and play in the resort communities of north Tahoe. Each year, we bring in a team of collegiate interns to partner alongside us as we lead people to Christ in a life-changing way.
About First Baptist Church of Tahoe City
The shred culture is a big part of our church. Many of our members work in the industry and we care deeply for those who are locals as well as seasonal workers.
We provide daily childcare for preschool through sixth grade, weekly youth group, and small groups to connect with the community.
Each Sunday (New Years through Easter) we hold 2pm mountain top church services at four ski areas in the Tahoe basin: Palisades (top of Big Blue Express)
Palisades Alpine (top of Roundhouse)
Northstar (top of Vista Express)
Diamond Peak (top of Lakeview)
Seasonally we host ski/snowboard wax nights and employee dinners. We also try to help J1 international student workers find housing, get to the Social Security office, and acclimate to our area. Beyond all of that, whether skiing or riding, we try to live out the way of Jesus to those who live, work, and play here.
