Cedric’s Recap:
Exactly one month ago, SFC France took bold steps into unknown territories. After months of planning and many meetings, we gathered at the foot of the French Alps in the town of Annecy for what would become a weekend of prayer, fellowship, and, foremost, strengthening friendships across countries and churches.
At the end of September, the city of Annecy transforms into the outdoor action sports mecca, where thousands of visitors and hundreds of seasonal workers come together to kick off the unofficial start of the winter season at the High Five Outdoor Film Festival! Our man Yannick (whom we’ve featured previously) saw an opportunity to be a light at this film festival. He organized a 40-hour prayer chain to pray for the city of Annecy, its churches, and the seasonal workers! To kick off the event, Yannick gathered, with help from a few pastors, a gathering of the six biggest churches in the city for a time of worship and prayer.
What stood out to me the most was the family feel we got from being together with Sfc’ers.

“Nous sommes très content d’avoir organisé le iPray en collaboration avec les églises d’Annecy. Ce fut un moment riche en partage et des personnes partout en France ont pu participer à la chaîne de prière en ligne pour les Skieurs et Snowboarders des stations françaises. 60 bibles ont pu être partagé. Le gros point positif du week end et aussi d’avoir pu participer au festival du High Five, rencontrer l’organisateur qui serait partant de nous laisser présenter un film, et nous avons pu simplement renforcer nos liens en tant qu’équipe SFC France.”
“We are very happy to have organized the iPray in collaboration with the Annecy churches. It was a rich moment of sharing, and people from all over France were able to take part in the online prayer chain for skiers and snowboarders in French resorts. 60 Bibles were distributed. The high point of the weekend was also to have been able to take part in the High Five Festival, meet the organizer who was willing to let us present a film, and we were able to simply strengthen our links as the SFC France team.”

Notre week-end au High5 d’Annecy fut une belle réussite et une bonne opportunité d’être au cœur de l’industrie du snowboard et du ski, et surtout des acteurs qui font vivre et progresser nos sports. Ce fut également une belle prise de contact avec l’organisateur de cet important événement, et surtout une bénédiction. Je retiens tout particulièrement l’accueil chaleureux des membres du Gospel Center et de L’église Évangélique Baptiste d’Annecy, et toutes les personnes qui ont pris du temps pour prier lors de la chaîne de prière. Our weekend at the High Five in Annecy was a great success and an excellent opportunity to be at the heart of the snowboard and ski industry, especially the people who keep our sport alive and progressing. It was also a great introduction to the organizers of this important event. I particularly appreciated the warm welcome from the members of the Gospel Center and L’église Évangélique Baptiste d’Annecy, and all those who took time out to pray during the prayer chain. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
