At SFC, we’re working to build a global culture of our six B.R.I.D.G.E. Values. This story from our chapter leaders in Sun Valley, Idaho, Phil and Adrianna, demonstrates the Value of Relationships.
Pool Party!
One of our main prayers this season at SFC Sun Valley was to build relationships with young riders and, specifically, with the Sun Valley snowboard team. Phil already had the idea at our SFC North America conference to plan events that he would want to attend. So, we decided on a pool party. Yes, a pool party. My husband is a big child and LOVES waterslides. We decided to gear the pool party towards the SV snowboard team. We showed up at their practice, handed out flyers, and spread the word to the best of our ability. We had absolutely no idea if anyone would show up. Not to mention, the morning of the event, there was an accident in the YMCA pool that caused us to scramble for another pool to accommodate us at the last minute. Where did we end up? Only the swankiest pool in town!
The day of, we drove a bus over to Dollar Mountain. Low and behold, 15 riders were ready to splash around in the pool with us, eat pizza, and win some sweet SFC swag. The timing was obviously God’s timing. We found out about their only local snowboard competition the following weekend and connected with their parents, which led to us to volunteer our time that weekend.
It was so rad to see some of the kids already wearing their swag and representing Jesus at their competition. Some even asked if they could be sponsored by SFC Sun Valley.
All this to say, we planned a number of simple events this year. Some were successful, some not so much, but I’m certain all were beneficial in the Kingdom. Our mindset since the start has been that it really doesn’t matter what we do, as long as we’re doing it for the glory of God and to show HIS love!
Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way. Colossians 3:15-17 MSG

We want to ensure that more stories like this keep happening, but we need your help. Right now we only have $38,000 left to raise to meet our needs for the year (ending June 30th). Would you pray about joining us to keep THE LIGHT ON THE HILL?
