Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 2 Timothy 4:2
As we prepare for the season ahead there is excitement in the air! It’s that time of year when our family starts pulling all our snowboard gear out from summer storage. We spend time together setting up boards and trying on boots and snow pants for the kids to make sure they still fit, hopefully! We want to be ready so that when the resort opens we’re ready to ride.
I wonder if we have the same enthusiasm and preparation for sharing the hope that we have in Jesus? 2 Timothy 4:2 says, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”
Honestly, I think we were more excited to just go ride the fresh snow. But what a great opportunity to remind ourselves and get prepared to talk with others about Gods word as we stand in line or ride up the chairlift. The snow is falling so let’s be ready!
