Romans 12:2 (ESV) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Time for the elephant in the room. We all know that we as Christians shall have no other gods before the Lord and that He is to come first in our lives, but do we really live that out? I remember when I first knew Christ and it didn’t take long for me to look at my life and see where I was spending most of my time and where most of my thought life was. I would spend all day thinking and talking about the sickest new edit out there and I couldn’t help but ask, “where are my priorities really pointing me to?” Our minds are precious gifts in the eyes of God and He has given us authority to what we feed them. When we feed our minds with the truths in God’s word, we renew our minds and are given a new life! When we continually feed our minds with things of this world, it can quickly separate us from the life that comes through Jesus. It’s like when we go out and eat junk food… It can be good for a meal and if it’s not something we do all the time, we can continue living a healthy lifestyle… But if we start eating junk food all the time, our health will suffer! The same is true with God! Feed your mind with the truth in His Word and your walk with the Lord will soar to new heights! Continually renew your mind with Him!
Continually renew your mind in Christ and the Bible so that you condition your mind to think more like Jesus, rather than thinking like the world!
Challenge
What do you talk about the most throughout a normal day?
What do you think about the most throughout a normal day? Are they different?
Do you think more like Jesus or the world?
How often do you renew your mind?
