MW Conference Recap

SFCers of the northern hemisphere kicked off the fall conference season this year with the Midwest Regional Conference in Mears, MI. As the leaves begin to change and the stoke for shred season begins to grow the event was a welcome chance to play, learn and grow for midwest SFCers.

The weekend was kicked off with encouragement from local pastor Kris Jones to know and celebrate our individual families’ generational faith story. Saturday after breakfast Kris lead the crew through a contemplative bible reflection with an opportunity to ponder, picture, and pray through Colossians 2:6-7. The rest of the day was full of laser tag, rock climbing, tubing on the lake, launching each other on the blob, playing on the sand dunes, and a great deal more shenanigans. It was a perfect mix of memory-making, learning, and getting ready for winter ministry to come.

The group turned out to be a great size to share deeply including personal struggles, and stories of faith and God’s redemption.

When asked why it’s important to attend an SFC Conference, Izyk Grabel from Grand Haven, MI said the following.

SFC Conferences are important because they help me remember why I want to be a part of this community! The memories with everyone make the time so enjoyable. And everyone has a desire to grow in their walk of faith. I wouldn’t exchange these experiences for anything! Experiences like these leave me with so much to look forward to, as well as an eagerness to grow in my faith.

No doubt, God has big things in store for the SFC family across the midwest this winter. To hear a little more about the event, check out the reflection below by local pastor Kris Jones.
