I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, 19 and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:18-21
Do you know that you are empowered?
Maybe when you are on your snowboard or skis you feel powerful, as you conquer the snow filled mountain?
But, if you are just learning how to snowboard, the first few days can feel defeating. Over time and with practice, your body learns how to respond to the board with greater ease. I always tell people to give snowboarding or skiing at least 3 days before giving up! By the 3rd day, a great sense of accomplishment begins to emerge! We start to feel empowered as we maneuver ourselves down the hill.
Like our bodies, our minds also need to be trained to think with God given authority.
Ephesians 1 states that we all have the same power that God exerted when He raised Christ from the dead!
This same mighty power from the Holy Spirit lives within each of us, when we choose Jesus as the Savior of our lives! This verse also says that our hearts can be enlightened to know the hope to which God has called us. We have hope and we are empowered by the almighty God!
Standing down instead of standing up, against the lies in our thoughts, is not taking ground in our mindsets. Our Holy Spirit of truth wants to destroy every lie that the enemy tries to feed us. Each of us are empowered to partner with God’s truth for our lives; to stomp on lies of fear, anxiety, insecurity, hopelessness and more!
It’s time to tap into the power and the authority that we have in Jesus!! It is time to take a stand solid, upon every truth that God has already spoken about our lives & our futures!
We are not alone in our thoughts: “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
- Sit down and write down thoughts that you know are lies in your mind.
- Then write the truth that the Lord says about you & your future next to each lie.
- Stand up! (literally) Shout out loud, each truth about your life & your future! Do this every time the thoughts in your head cause fear, anxiety, insecurity and/or hopelessness.
