25 26-Year Celebration!

What?

A monumental SFC celebration! Think of it as an SFC family reunion where everyone is invited. A time to thank God for the last quarter-century-ish of shred ministry and pray for the next 25ish years. It’s NOT a conference, retreat, or camp. It’s NOT like anything we’ve done in the past! SIX DAYS LONG. Shredding together during the day with dinner together, short talks, worship, and storytelling in the evenings.

WHY?

God has now been growing the movement worldwide for 25ish years. It’s time to plant our flag, blow our horns (there will be no actual horns), and shout with thanksgiving for God’s work in the shred community. SFC is a multi-generational, multi-language, multi-cultural movement, and it’s time to get everyone together. IF you love Jesus and skiing/snowboarding, YOU NEED TO BE HERE. COME AND MEET YOUR FAMILY!

WHEN?

February 22 – 27, 2022

Registration options are available to attend Weekday (Tuesday through Thursday) or Weekend (Thursday through Sunday) if you need. Although, we encourage everyone to try to make it for the Full Celebration.

WHERE?

Meeting and shredding at Copper Mountain, Colorado USA (with lots of other resorts, activities, and backcountry options close by).

Lodging discounts are available to book your own group at Copper Mountain or feel free to book anywhere else nearby that you’d like (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO, hotels). If you don’t have people to stay with or a place to stay, let us know and we can help.

WHO?

The SFC Family! Anyone and everyone EVER involved with (or familiar with…or even unfamiliar with) SFC. Anyone who loves Jesus (or is even remotely interested in Jesus) and skiing/snowboarding.

More Details

Below is a somewhat detailed list of resources to make your travels and stay at the celebration much easier. If you have more questions, please contact us.

Accommodations

Most of our activities will be at Copper Chapel right on Copper Mountain Resort property. If you choose lodging outside of Copper, you will need to arrange transportation each day to the Chapel.

  • Element 29 – The easiest option. Hotel is right next to Copper Chapel (less than 100 ft). It’s brand new and in a perfect location between the slopes and where the celebration will be. This hotel can be booked by calling (970) 406-7565 and mention group code 5229. Rates listed below are for King or Double Queen rooms. You can fill it up with 2-4 people.
    • ~$1,100 for all 5 nights.
    • ~$390 – For the weekday celebration (Tuesday and Wednesday nights).
    • ~$720 – For the weekend celebration (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights).
  • Airbnb or VRBO – Your cheapest option. Search for places in Copper, Frisco, Silverthorne, or Dillon. These are all 5-20min away from the chapel.
  • Hotels – You can explore Copper’s other lodging options but they will be spendier than Airbnb or VRBO.
  • SFC Community – Reach out on the SFC Community Facebook Group and see if there is anyone that wants to join with you for lodging.
  • Other – If you don’t have a crew to share a room or Airbnb with, we will help you find someone. In the confirmation email after you have registered you will get a link to a quick form to fill out.

Flights

Start searching now. The best airport to fly into is Denver International Airport (DEN). The celebration will start at 5:00 PM MST on Tuesday the 22nd and end at around 10:00 AM MST on Sunday the 27th.

Transportation from the airport

  • Bustang – Least Expensive/Least Flexibility. There is a bus that goes from Denver to Summit County (Frisco Transfer Center) a couple of times per day.
  • Summit Stage – Once you are in Summit County there is a free bus that goes most places but be warned it can take 2 hours or more to get from one place to another.
  • Shuttle Service – More Expensive/More Flexibility. Shop for price in Summit Express, Epic Mountain Express, and Peak 1 Express
  • Rent a car – Most expensive/Most Flexibility. Shop rental car websites (kayak.com, rentalcars.com, etc.)

Lift tickets

  • Copper Season Pass – If you plan to ride for more than 5 days at Copper. Check Copper’s website to see if it’s still available.
  • Day Tickets – Contact [email protected] to inquire about discounted day tickets, we’d need a minimum number of committed ticket buyers to get a discounted window rate of $99 per day.
  • Other – Some Backcountry groups may form at the conference.

Food

Dinner will be included and provided every evening at 5pm. For the other meals, there are several local restaurants around Copper as well as a grocery store. If you need more, there is a wider selection just a quick drive away to Frisco (Walmart, Whole Foods, Safeway, etc).

Child care

“Parents free time” available: 4-hour blocks Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Time of day TBD based on the group’s need. If you have any questions about child care, please contact us.
